yes dx7 uses either dsm2 or dsmx and this will work with both

A 12 lb. 80 inch balsa Nova kit.

ok I think you'd be fine with the hs645mg for normal flying
but if you want "the cadillac" servos I would go to the $100/servo range

the hitec titanium gears are the best in my view
but maybe not worth spending extra in this case
