I have a Spectrum DX7 and running a gasoline engine. I have used all the ports of my receiver so I was thinking of buying an 8channel receiver to attach both receiver battery and engine battery to create redundancy. I hope this makes sense. Is this the receiver I should be looking at?

Hello! How may I assist your shopping experience? Did you have a question about this module?
Yes. I have a Spectrum DX7 and running a gasoline engine. I have used all ports of my receiver so I was thinking of buying a 8channel reciver to attach both receiver battery and engine battery to create redundancy. I hope this makes cense. Is this the receiver I should be looking at?

the engine battery shouldn't be hooked to the receiver, (that really isn't redundancy)
what do you mean by "redundancy?"
onlarge planes I often run two separate receivers, each with its own battery and switch, and each controls half the plane
you can do that as long as both receiver s are the same model
I was thinking if both batteries were connected to the receiver if one failed the other would still alow the airplane to land. This is my first gas plane and I'm still learning.

no that wont' work that way
it is possible for one battery to fail and take the other out with it
(if you hook them together like that)
the method I suggested is advocated by Don Apolistico of Don's hobby shop
he wrote several books for giant scale planes
Okay. I will ask one of my club members to help me before I order one. I sure appreciate your help.
