Steven, I'm looking to purchase the Hangar 9 6s Extra
I have two Spektrum 5060 servos that I took out of my beast 60e when i replaced them with JR servos
will they work in the Extra?
they are standard size but the case is a tad taller.

Yes you still can use those in that plane. They will fit just fine.
I smoked all the 5060's I used in my beast. I replaced them all with JR 3711's.
I dont' want to buy the 6220's for fear of smoking them in this plane.
is there a slightly less expensive option other than the Jr's? Is there a Hitec Digital option, such as the HS-5245?

The HS-5245 would be a good cheap replacement for that. I have used a bunch of them with no failers in the servos.
what woudl be the best Hitec servo for this wing application? I fly pretty hard 3D, considering I'm learning it, so it's hard on the plane.
and servo's just get smoked.
